Fans of the tabletop and avid users of this service might be aware that this service currently offers two premium subscriptions. Hero subscription, which costs $2.99 and gives players access to unlimited character creation. It also allows them access to homebrew content, gives early access to new tools, allows masters to create unlimited encounters, and gives them certain monthly subscriber perks.

Then there’s a more expensive Master tier which is priced at $5.99 per month. It comes with all the perks of the Hero tier and adds the ability to share unlocked content with other players.

There is also an option to use these tools for free. This option only allows the creation of limited characters, and that too with a basic rule set.
But the abovementioned leak from a D&D source by the name of DungeonScribe suggests that Hasbro plans to increase the price of the highest tier subscription from $5.99/month to a whopping $30/month. And fans are not able to believe that some companies would just go around swindling money from them this way.
What’s worse is that once this new price starts rolling out, base players would have limited access to Homebrews. OGL 1.0a would also be deauthorized.

It is also said that this decision has divided most of Hasbro. There are some who are seeing it as a bad decision. So there are also chances that this might not happen at all. Only if the executives who passed this order start seeing sense.

On the other hand, D&D has a very dedicated player base. It would be worth seeing how they react to this drastic change.
