HBO Series ‘The Last of Us’ Has an Easter Egg on Google for Everyone

HBO series The Last of Us has unveiled its second episode out of a total of nine. The series has put up a marvelous performance on entertainment screens worldwide and is continuing to do so. Its first episode reached more than 10 million views in the US within two days and surely this will be carried forward by the second episode. Meanwhile, it seems that fungal growth has taken over ‘Google.’

Naughty Dog’s TLOU is one spectacle to enter into the gaming community. The series also gave a groundbreaking boost to its video game adaptation on Amazon. As the series continues to progress, it seems it has taken over the colossal search engine.

The Last of Us gets a cool feature on the Google search engine

TLOU has recently been getting recognition worldwide. The boost in sales easily hints at the fact that people who might have not played the game in the first place, are indulging in experiencing the post-apocalyptic world from the perspective of a player. While the fans are enjoying the viewer’s perspective, they can also enjoy the view that Google has for them if they search the four magical words (The Last of Us).

Brought forward by the Reddit user u/hybroid, if one searches The Last of Us on Google a red button would appear at the bottom of their screen. If not instantly, then after a few seconds, or scrolling up and down, a button would appear. By clicking the red mushroom button, one would see fungal growth taking over their screen.

Continuously clicking the red button would result in a much aggressive growth taking over almost all of your screen. For all of you thinking that it would take over all your tabs, the visual would be limited to the tab on which you search ‘The Last of Us’ (not case sensitive). Another point to note is that it will happen on both, mobile and desktop/laptop browsers. After multiple clicks, one can see a fungal portrait forming on the screen as shown below:

After this easter egg hit the internet, people cordially agreed it to be a cool feature. A person said, “I got it to cover my whole screen except for a slit in the middle. Now that’s some creative marketing!” One can see other reactions below:
