The official Twitter handle of The Last of Us made some stunning revelations that could’ve changed the series and its portrayal of a mutant-infested world. Co-creator of the series recently revealed that the Oscar-winning actor from The Inception and The Dallas Buyers’ Club was the alternate choice to play Joel in The Last of Us.

In a recent YouTube video of an episode of Happy Sad Confused, Craig Mazin, co-creator of the series slipped some trivia about The Last of Us that has left the fans bewildered. The brains behind the series said that the team had considered casting Matthew McConaughey before Pedro Pascal was available to take up the role.
“I don’t know yeah I’m sure there’s an alternate universe where it’s different and look Matthew McConaughey is an amazing actor. I’m sure it would have been great, but it would have been different and I like the one that we made so what can I say I think it worked“, said Mazin, evidently satisfied with the end result.
