DIVE DEEPER: “The Evil Has Been Defeated’ – Fans Celebrate as Twitter Suspends Bayonetta 3 Developer’s Account Amidst Voice Actress Controversy

Fans disappointed with Bayonetta 3 developers despite ‘peace’ message from leading voice actor

‘Old is gold’, you must have come across this sentence thousands of times throughout your life. And well, isn’t it true? After all, there are multiple reasons to prove this theory, as we can lay down factors affecting positively. Now, you may think why this statement is applicable here, so let us explain.

It all started with Hellena Taylor, the legendary voice actress behind Bayonetta 3’s protagonist. The British-origin superstar voiced her feelings on Twitter about being underpaid for the game’s third edition. Hellena felt her wage to be an insult, as she’d contributed immensely to the game’s success. So, to share her sorrows, she uploaded a post on Twitter mentioning the $4000 wage to fans.

While fans joined in support, PlatinumGames’ co-founder Hideki Kamiya chose the wrong side. He posed an indirect threat that spread unnecessary hate among the community. Hideki got banned for his own doings. With that, fans predicted the feud to finally end as they went back to counting the days until Bayonetta 3’s release.

However, they went through another pit stop as Bayonetta 3’s now lead voice actress put out a statement. “As a longtime member of the voice acting community, I support every actor’s right to be paid well and have advocated consistently for this for years,” she wrote. “Anyone who knows me, or has followed my career, will know that I have great respect for my peers and that I am an advocate for all members of the community.”

She went on to talk about how much the company has worked to produce the game, and so fans should not let that affect the game. However, toward the end, Hale concluded by saying, “Finally, I hope that everyone involved may resolve their differences in an amicable and respectful way.”

With that being said, fans were not happy with PlatinumGames replacing their favorite as her voice was something that made the game more likable. But sadly, fans would simply have to transition now.

Bayonetta 3 will release on October 28, 2022.
