Further, gaming has even become a way of life. There are so many stories about the profound impact that movies and tv shows have had on people. And video games are no different. In a similar instance, a person shared the impact an  Assassin’s Creed game had on their life.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag was the first of its kind in many ways for the franchise. It is widely considered one of the best Assassin’s Creed titles. However, its impact goes way beyond the franchise. In a Reddit post shared a year ago, a person shared the story of how Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag saved their life.

When Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag became a symbol of hope 

Recently, a confession from a Reddit discussion surfaced across social media. The thread was a mature, sensitive topic, which was titled “what stopped you from committing su*cide?” And one reddit user shared their story of how Assassin’s creed IV: Black Flag saved their life.

Sounds really fu**ing stupid, but I had a plan and everything, date picked out and in the process of writing a note, when my mom came home and gave me AC Black Flag. We were really struggling for money back then, so I was surprised. I sat down and played it all the way through with my sister and was so absorbed that I missed the date I had planned. When I realized I was laughing with my sister about something in the game and couldn’t fathom why I had been thinking about it. I turned 18 a few years later and my first tattoo was the AC symbol on my wrist for my birthday. People ask me why and I just say because it’s my favorite game series. Only I really know why.”

Ubisoft’s 2013 release under the Assassin’s Creed franchise couldn’t have gotten a better appreciation. A game that saved a life! While this isn’t the first confession that talks about how games have helped them cope with life or help them heal pain, it becomes another reminder of how impactful the virtual worlds can be.
