Hideo Kojima Drops Massive Death Stranding Announcement Amidst Growing Hype for an Awaited Sequel on PlayStation 5

Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding launched in 2019. After releasing a PC version of the game, recently it got the Director’s Cut version for PlayStation 5. The game has broken a number of records. It was lauded for its writing and performances and it was praised for the kind of message it was trying to put out.

Hideo Kojima is famous for making games like these, as he indulges in developing his games more cinematic and stylized. He once even said he wants to try his hands at making movies and now, he is finally there.

Hideo Kojima is making a Death Stranding movie

Hideo Kojima has finally struck a deal with Alex Lebovici, the executive producer of the recent horror film Barbarian. They would both be producing the film and it would be directed by Hideo Kojima himself.

People are expecting most of the original cast of the game to return for this movie. Some say it would be a great opportunity for those who never played Death Stranding to experience its mind-blowing story.

The story itself revolves around a delivery man in a post-apocalyptic world. This man has a rare phobia called haphephobia, which is basically a phobia of being touched. He delivers packages from one place to another in a world that is infested by some weird metaphysical beings.

The game was a mix of third-person action adventure and some horror. It had numerous genres under its umbrella, so it remains to be seen where Kojima decided to focus on the film adaptation.

Hideo Kojima’s big movie announcement comes as a big surprise due to the fact that the acclaimed director is currently also working on the sequel to Death Stranding. Fans everywhere are wondering what would come first, the movie or the game.

The sequel would again be made on Guerrilla Games’ Decima engine. And Kojima is also using Epic game’s Meta Human technology to create more life-like characters than in the previous game.
