Recently, the Japanese game director Hideo Kojima was enjoying the McDonald’s Samurai Burger with some fries. While that may not sound like groundbreaking news, there is a reason why Kojima was extremely lucky to have that meal. 

For the next month, having McDonald’s fries in Japan could be as difficult as getting your hands on a PlayStation 5. The fast-food giant McDonald’s will be facing a potato shortage because of which, they have stopped serving medium and large-sized potato fries for about a month. That’s why Kojima was lucky to get his while he still could. 

On the 7th of Jan 2021, the Japanese gaming legend shared a picture on Twitter which features an entire McDonald’s meal. Fans responded by pointing out that the seemingly simple meal will soon become a rare commodity in Japanese McDonald’s. 

The shortage has been caused by delays in imports and, interestingly, it’s not the first time that such a ban has been announced. Sales of fried potatoes were earlier restricted in late December as well.

Hideo Kojima’s next big project   

Japanese McDonald’s is facing delays in the shipment of fried potatoes mainly due to bad weather and other unfavorable factors. That’s the reason behind this entire fries crisis. 

Hideo Kojima, recently, the game designer shared an astonishing piece of news with the fans. It’s a brand new AAA gaming title under work at the Kojima Productions. But apart from this, Kojima has released no other details about this game. It’s likely that fans will soon get to hear some more joyful news by the devs in the coming few months.

He did state, however, that the game will be one that everyone will want to play and that it will not be a shooter title. Thus, the intrigue for this mystery title is building up nicely and fans are waiting expectantly for more news from Kojima.
