Potterheads, listen up! Avalanche Studios has just officially hinted at a fast travel mechanic in Hogwarts Legacy. Before, fans had spotted a lot of clues in the reveal trailer that points to the existence of a Floo Network in the upcoming open-world RPG. This, coupled with the recent revelation, has made it certain that players will be able to use Floo Flame to navigate across the map.

Hogwarts Legacy is all set to release in Holiday 2022 and will be set in the 1800s, a world before the original lore occurred. Hence, fans will not be seeing beloved characters like Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, or Ron Weasley in the game. However, the game will certainly encapsulate the experience of a Wizarding World that Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is known for.

Developers confirm fast travel in Hogwarts Legacy

A couple of days back, the official Hogwarts Legacy team tweeted a clue that confirms the fast travel mechanic. Players will be able to reach Hogsmeade, a Wizarding Village, on the map either by foot or ‘even quicker’ by Floo Flame.

As the above video shows, Floo Flame is the slightly weak, green flame at the base of the structure. Moreover, the structure appears to be a statue of Ignatia Wildsmith, the creator of Floo Powder, according to the original lore.

Before, fans had theorized the same by closing inspecting the Wildsmith monuments from the reveal trailer. With Hogwarts Legacy confirming that Floo Flame will speed up traveling, the long-going speculation stands confirmed.

What are Floo Flame and Floo Powder?

As mentioned before, Ignatia Wildsmith created the Floo Powder to initiate quick travel in the Wizarding World via the Floo Network. The Floo Network was a set of origin and exit points in the form of fireplaces, present in every wizard’s house.

Using the Floo Powder, witches and wizards could enter a fireplace and exit through a different fireplace.

The officials haven’t revealed anything beyond just the existence of a quick travel system. However, fans can’t help speculating further. For example, the revelation may imply that a player has to carry Floo Powder at all times for fast travel. Moreover, the fast travel mechanic may cost a player some in-game currency each time.

Although the revelation of a fast travel mechanic sounds quite interesting, fans want more. We definitely want a release date, for starters. A co-op mode would be the best. Nevertheless, all fans of magic and wizardry are very excited!
