Hogwarts Legacy’s failure to make it to any of the nominations for The Game Awards 2023 indeed came as a shock for a lot of gaming fans. But who would have thought the game would compensate for the unfortunate miss out in such a way? Well, Potterheads it’s time to celebrate as Hogwarts Legacy has been nominated for a Grammy award.

A Grammy Award is the biggest honor in the field of music. Even just being nominated is a huge achievement for the Avalanche Software project as it takes the role-playing adventure to an elite list that only a few titles have managed to reach. But is the Grammy nomination the much-needed redemption Hogwarts Legacy needed after a disappointing show at the TGA 2023 nominees?

Hogwarts Legacy moves a step closer to glory

Avalanche Software’s wizarding world adaptation had come as a big early surprise for 2023. The game didn’t just receive a great reception from the gaming fans, but was also widely praised by the critics. So most fans expected the game to secure a GOTY nomination. However, the jury for TGA 2023 had other plans.

While the game missed out on its chance to get the spotlight at the Game Awards for the year, there is still hope for big things. The game has been nominated for ‘Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media’.

The soundtrack had always been one of the most complimented features of the game. According to the fans who had their bets on Hogwarts Legacy as GOTY, the music in the game, given by Chuck E. Myers “Sea”, J Scott Rakozy and Peter Murray, made the role-playing experience more immersive. However, the HL fans won’t be taking the Grammy for granted, especially after what happened with the TGA nominations.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn Of Ragnarok had won the Grammy for the same category last year. It is important to note that God of War Ragnarok and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor also received applause for their music score. But Stray Gods developed by Summerfall Studios has music as the center focus of the game. The only role-playing musical in the nomination. There’s no denying the fact that Hogwarts Legacy will give strong competition to all other nominees in the category. However, it’s not going to be an easy win for the Potterheads.

The wait isn’t too long as the Grammy Awards show will be happening on February 5, 2024. Your bets?
