Hogwarts Legacy: Spell Combinations and tricks

There are many spells players can use in the game. But finding a combo that can inflict severe damage is somewhat tricky. Suitable spell usage will ensure that you defeat the opponents with ease. Do try these following spells to spark your gaming experience:

There are quite a few powerful spells in the game. The unforgivable spell Avada Kedavra is considered the most powerful one of them all, as it instantly kills the enemy. There are a few spells which have god-like power potential. Petrificus Totalus is one such spell.

The spell turns enemies into statues, and you can instantly finish them. But the tricky part is that players must be undetected to cast the spell. So, the potentiality of using it in a fight diminishes.

Use of Glacius with Petrificus Totalus

However, there is a secret workaround for this. Players need to get hold of the Glacius spell. When cast, the enemies will get frozen with the spell. And this aspect makes the system deem the player is ‘not in combat.’ Thus, you can now use the Petrificus Totalus on the enemy.

Use of Imperio with Petrificus Totalus

This unforgiven spell is an ideal combo with the Petrificus spell. The use of Imperio will make opponents your allies for a brief moment. During this time, wizards can cast the Petrificus Totalus spell to knock them out.

And in this case, you can even fight trolls with the combo. But, these combos with Petrificus are only valuable for those one-one fights and are not recommended in fights including multiple targets.

2) Defeat enemies mid-air

Levioso is one of the first spells the players learn in the game. On the other hand, Depulso can be learned after completing the first task given by Professor Sharp.

Depulso is a spell that is less effective when used alone. It is advised to couple it up with Levioso. Using Levioso first will raise the targets off the ground, casting Depulso would throw the opponent off. Ideally, a wall is behind them for additional damage.

End the move using Descendo, which slams these targets onto the ground. This combo will severely damage the opponents and likely defeat them. You will get Descendo after completing the task given by professor Onai.

3) Damage boost tricks

Like many RPG games, there are means of boosting damage in Hogwarts Legacy. The red textured spells, which ideally are considered DPS, can get amplified with other spells. These combos result in increased damage output from the DPS spells.

One of the most potent combos in this regard is the usage of Glacius . The ability freezes the opponents, and the spell makes them extra vulnerable to the subsequent spell the player casts.

Ideally, you can go with Diffendo, an excellent spell for any range. This would result in a damage amp for more than double.

Diffendo can be obtained from the second part of Professor Sharp’s mission.

4) Close Range attacks and combos

Close-range attacks help players to divide up enormous hordes of enemies and thus easing the difficulty of finishing them off. One of the critical spells in this category is Incendio. This spell burns the lives of your enemies. But, the only problem is that the damage output reduces distance increases.

So, the combo players need to use here is casting Accio. This pulls enemies closer to the wizards, and they can give a full-blown Incendio and burn their opponents away.

Now try this following combo to master the art of close-range attack. First, cast Accio to pull enemies closer and slam them down with Descendo. When they bounce back up, cast Glacius to freeze them. And then cast Incendio, the glacial effect will give additional damage.

5) Long Range Attacks and Combos

Now, let’s move on to the long-range attacks. Players only need to mix up a few spells in the close-ranged combo to do a long-range one. Replace Accio with Levioso and Incendio with Diffendo.

So when attacking, the enemies would be cast in the air with Levioso. Then smashing them back with Descendo tallies up the damage. Add the Glacius spell at this moment and finish it off with Diffendo. This is a very powerful long-range attack set.

6) Transformation: Instant Kill

Players can use a trick to instantly kill off enemies. The transformation spell changes enemies into a barrel. Couple it up with Descendo to throw the barrel to a long-range, instantly killing the enemy. But do not try this on big targets like trolls, who won’t get transformed.

7) Tip: Accio over Wingardium Leviosa

Accio is a suitable replacement for Wingardium Leviosa. Especially in the case of combats where the latter could be of more use. So save up a spell space by replacing Wingardium Leviosa with Accio. Moreover, at moments when you need the spell, it is actually automatically cast by the character.
