Hogwarts Legacy is the new action role-playing title by Avalanche Software based on J.K. Rowling’s “Harry Potter” series. Whoever played this Wizarding game is singing praises for the song. Many fans even believe it’s in contention to win ‘Game of the Year’ in 2023, as the sales have already surpassed the current ‘GOTY’ Elden Rings.

But while the internet is full of praise for this action role-playing game, there are also some complaints about the same as well. So let’s look into some of the things about Hogwarts Legacy that fans don’t like.

10. Repeating dialogues

One of the things that will annoy anyone playing Hogwarts Legacy is the constantly repeating dialogues. The player’s character keeps saying lines like “Sometimes it feels like all roads lead to Hogsmeade” or “Does it get any more cozy than Hogsmeade,” whenever the player enters the Hogsmeade village.

If the player’s constantly saying the same dialogue isn’t enough, then the House Elf Deek will ask you to be proud of the potions you brew every time entering the Room of Requirements. But the most annoying one has to be Ignatia Wildsmith boasting about her Floo network whenever the player uses fast travel.

9. Glitches

No matter what year it is, it seems a glitch-free game is a myth. Although Hogwarts Legacy doesn’t have many glitches, there are some annoying yet hilarious ones. The first glitch that most players would encounter is where the capes tend to clip through their bodies.

Then there is this glitch that some players noticed where everything around the player disappears and they seem like falling into limitless space. But then everything pops back again. However, the player could die from this weird glitchy fall. Then some players have also noticed glitches while swimming where they even ended up floating in mid-air. Now that’s some ‘glitchy magic’!

8. So many stairs!

Even if it’s magical, Hogwarts is still a school where young people come to study. So besides academics, physical training is also necessary. But it doesn’t seem like this wizarding school has such classes (flying on a broom doesn’t seem like a great physical exercise). It seems the Hogwarts students don’t need PE because of the school structure.

In the game, we see that there are lots of stairs. Every player will stumble across stairs at every corner. If some chose Ravenclaw, then those students do intense cardio to just reach their common rooms. There are so many stairs that some players are frustrated with them. One solution to this could have been the brooms, but sadly, players can’t use them inside the Hogwarts castle.

7. The main character doesn’t have emotions

Hogwarts Legacy players might feel that their character is an emotionless psychopath. After all, the character always has a neutral expression and doesn’t show any kind of emotion in the game. Even in a troublesome situation, when other NPCs show some emotions, the main character’s replies sound neutral, as if it doesn’t matter to the character.

Even in games like God of War, the tough and mighty Kratos broke out of his neutral state to show some emotions. But it seems that’s not the case with Hogwarts Legacy’s protagonist.

6. Demiguise Statues are annoying

If you want to unlock the locks across the Hogwarts Legacy, the players would need to learn Alohomora. Now like other spells, players can upgrade Alohomora to unlock Level II and III locks. However, unlike other spells, this spell can’t be leveled up via the talent tree. Instead, players would need to do some of the most annoying side quests.

They would have to collect the Demiguise Statues to upgrade Alohomora spells. However, it is not easy to find these statues, as they can only be found at night while using the Revelio spell.

5. Where is the Hogwarts student experience?

One of the reasons the Potterheads were looking forward to this game was because they thought of getting the Hogwarts student experience. But the game didn’t meet all the expectations, especially when it comes to the student experience.

The players were disappointed to know that they hardly get to do anything in the class, or interact with classmates, and there is also nothing much to do in the common rooms. This game is a classic open-world RPG title with a Harry Potter theme, but they could have made it something like 2008’s Bully by Rockstar, where players got to attend class and interact with classmates besides the classic open-world experience.

4. The flying mechanics and no photo mode in Hogwarts Legacy

The Potterheads were undoubtedly looking forward to playing this game. One of the reasons for this hype was that fans could fly a broom or ride magical beasts like Hippogriff and Thestrals. But the flying mechanics weren’t that great compared to what games like GTA offered. Hogwarts Legacy didn’t offer features like a 360 degrees view and had poor viewing angles.

Now, when riding on your broom or beasts, every Potterhead would wish to capture the moment. However, the game doesn’t have a camera mode. So they cannot capture their flying session and also cannot seize any amazing scenes from the game. The only way to capture moments is to use the console or PC’s screenshot feature.

3. Who says Revelio every time!?

One of the most annoying features would be the Revelio. Although it is one of the most useful features in the game, the player says Revelio every time while casting it. Now, according to the source, the player would say the spell’s name to cast it. But it is annoying after some point in time.

Maybe the players should talk to fellow fifth-year Cressida Blume, who is trying to learn non-verbal spells. After all, a non-verbal Revelio would be great to use in-game that will not annoy players.

2. Sebastian Sallow’s plotline overshadows the main story

The one thing that fans didn’t appreciate about the game was how a sub-quest overshadowed the main plot. Fans appreciated Sebastian Sallow’s plotline over the main plot related to Ancient Magic. Sebastian’s plot has more drama and choices matter more than they do in the main quest. Also, this sub-quest lets fans learn the Unforgivable Curses.

1. The Hogwarts Legacy PC version isn’t great

This new action RPG title is available on multiple platforms. The console users have a smooth experience, but the same couldn’t be said about those playing it on PC. Additionally, PC users also didn’t get access to some spells and quests, which are exclusive only to the console.

One of the best missions is the Haunted Hogsmeade shop quest, but only PlayStation users would get to enjoy this one. It won’t be wrong to say that PC users are not getting the most out of Hogwarts Legacy.
