Jack Black, the Super Mario Bros movie voice artist, has voiced his opinion about video game adaptations and the future of the entertainment/gaming industry, and it’s quite intriguing.
The past few years have been a delight for the gaming industry with back-to-back blockbuster hits. From The Last Of Us, God Of War, and GTA, to Red Dead Redemption, Elden Ring, Mario, and more, publishers rarely stopped dropping hits. This led to the cinematic industry show added interest in the storylines, thinking of bringing these classics to life.
This thought paved the way for multiple game adaptions turning into movies or television shows – The Last Of Us series being the latest one. Similarly, Nintendo released a cinematic for their Mario universe, headlining Super Mario Bros on April 5. Jack Black was featured in an interview to shed a few more details about the movie. However, he ended up explaining deeper, also revealing his next favorite idea for a game-movie adaption.

What did Jack Black say about the future of the gaming and entertainment industry?
During a recent interview with BBC, the 53-year-old spoke on the prospects of the entertainment industry. He believed that video game adaptions would soon become a prominent thing and that after Last Of Us, it was time to consider a few more franchises.
Here’s what he said talking about the HBO Max series and possible future projects, “The Last of Us was fantastic,” he said. “And what’s crazy is how loyal it is to the original source material. It’s basically all from the game with just a couple of tweaks. It’s going to win all the awards. They used the video game almost like a storyboard and I was like. Whoa, this looks just the same.”
