Horizon Forbidden West DLC gives Sylens a major role

The tale of the Burning Shores DLC leads Aloy to the ruins of Los Angeles in order to learn more about the race she faced in the original game. During this adventure, she befriends Seyka, Aloy’s new ally. After completing this short main quest, players encounter Lance Reddick as Sylens in the mission ‘Epilogue’.

During the mission, Sylens claims to have discovered a clue in the material gathered from the Burning Shores. This knowledge might lead to the development of a weapon capable of killing Nemesis, the series’ main antagonist. Sylens states he will have to seek this technology and tells Aloy that he will not be able to do so alone. This leads Aloy to hypothesize the reason Sylens stayed on Earth at the conclusion of Forbidden West.

Fans would rejoice if Reddick returned as Sylens. This is possible only if Reddick recorded the motion capture for Sylens beforehand. And looking at how the DLC has ended, it makes one wonder that Reddick might have actually recorded everything. Another reason why this is a possibility is because he has already recorded the dialogue for his character Commander Zavala in Destiny, which was confirmed by Bungie.
