The YouTuber is now moving towards amassing 30 billion overall views on his channel. Recently, he revealed an important connection between him and gaming.

One of the key questions many new fans have for him is the reason behind keeping the name MrBeast. But the reason behind him keeping this name is quite simple. And Xbox deserves little credit for the name of the YouTuber.

MrBeast found his YouTube name via his love for gaming

To know the story about the name of MrBeast, fans should know a little about his backstory. The YouTuber was an introverted kid during his childhood. He used to interact mostly with one of his best friends in childhood, Kris Tyson. They both, along with some other friends, were a reserved group of teenagers who used to talk only about YouTube growing up. Tyson has notably said about him, “Jimmy just has always been hyper-obsessed. Like, Jimmy is a weirdo when it comes to YouTube. They have to study his brain when he dies.”

MrBeast also had a hobby of gaming. He, along with Kris, used to play titles like Minecraft and Call of Duty together. His YouTube name first came up when he was trying to make an Xbox gamer tag. While doing so he stumbled upon the name auto-generated by Xbox, MrBeast. The YouTuber instantly liked the name and kept MrBeast6000 as his gaming name.

After a while, he was making a gaming YouTube channel at Kris Tyson’s house in North Carolina to become the biggest gaming YouTuber. And when MrBeast made his YouTube account, he decided to keep the same name as his Xbox tag. However, he dropped the numerical value at the end and shortened it.
