Chris Tyson, Jimmy’s childhood friend, notes that initially, they were creating skits and funny videos for the channel. And while some of them became popular for a still nascent channel, none of them actually went viral. MrBeast chalks this up to him not being entertaining at that age.
However, Donaldson kept up with the hectic grind. In his own words: “I just love it, and I just couldn’t stop”
This perseverance ultimately paid off when MrBeast earned his first major payday. It took him 75,000 views to make his first $100 off YouTube, making about $30 a month. While it may not seem like a significant payday compared to his whopping $54 million payday in 2021, it was a remarkable occurrence for the still young Jimmy.
