How the Call of Duty Endowment Initiative Will Support Military Veterans During the Month of May

The month of May is Military Appreciation Month. Therefore, Call of Duty has decided to lend a hand to army veterans. They have launched the campaign #CODEMedicalHeroes to address the significant underemployment and unemployment disparities that veterans face when returning to civilian life.
According to a recent blog post, fifty percent of veteran medics are unable to find jobs in the civilian healthcare industry even though they have medical expertise. “The Call of Duty Endowment helps veterans find high-quality careers by supporting groups that prepare them for the job market and by raising awareness of the value vets bring to the workplace.”

In order to ensure fair employment for veterans, Call of Duty has initiated the C.O.D.E Revival Challenge. During this challenge, players must revive their teammates in Call of Duty to pay homage to veteran medics. Each player is challenged to revive 5 other players in Call of Duty: Warzone. Activision has pledged to donate $1 for every challenge completed up to $1 million.
According to the post, “For every five revivals, players will unlock a free C.O.D.E. Calling Card. Spread the word, because if one million participants complete the revival challenge during the week, we will host a Double XP event!”

Treyarch has also developed the C.O.D.E. Battle Doc Pack with the help of “U.S. Army Combat Medical Badge recipient, Sergeant First Class Timothy “Doc” Hobbs Jr., SGT. First Class US Army (Ret.), who was deployed on two combat missions in Iraq, two in Afghanistan, and one humanitarian mission in Puerto Rico.”
Every time a player purchases this pack, they are directly supporting veterans since 100% of the proceeds from its sales go to veterans like Timothy. The battle pack will expire once it reaches its goal of raising $2 million. “Each purchase supports the Endowment and includes an Epic Sims Operator skin, Legendary Weapon Blueprint, Epic Weapon Charm, Epic Calling Card and Emblem, and Double XP Token.”
