The story of the Last of Us focuses on the journey of Joel and Ellie—a veteran smuggler and his cargo, who is humanity’s last hope. Played by Hollywood’s finest talents, Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, the characters of Ellie and Joel have gained the hearts of millions of fans, all over the world. 

Their portrayal of Joel and Ellie, who shares a paternal bond, has transcended from the reel to real life. In a recent interview, both Pedro and Bella shared that what the audience sees on the screens is actually very real. Both of the actors share a very special bond that will make them come back to each other over and over again, even outside work. 

Pedro Pascal shares Bella was his ‘Blessing’ in the Last of Us

“Bella Ramsey plays Ellie and I call her, ‘Bellie’ and she is my blessing.” said Pedro about his young co-lead. In many interviews and interactions, Pedro and his ‘Bellie’ has shown a connection that is very rare in the industry. He bestows on her energy that is almost as special as the bond that he shares on the sets of the Last of Us.

“Our relationship definitely developed as Joel and Ellie’s relationship has.” said Bella about his Pedge. “It was just a match made in heaven and I Love her” added Pedro. 

In a short tribute video that was shared on Twitter, which shared how Pedro and Bella’s offscreen relationship ‘blessed’ the sets of the Last of Us.

Replying to this tweet Bella said, “HOW I MISS YOU I really really miss you. My Pedge.” Making it very apparent that, even though the shoots and their journey together on the sets have wrapped up, Bellie and Pedge are nowhere near being over.
