Starfield‘s release date is approaching soon. Bethesda already announced a preload opportunity for Xbox Series X/S users. While people are excited about this outer space-themed role-playing game, some fans mentioned the huge storage Starfield needed for installation. This Xbox-exclusive game will feature an open world, which seemed to be a justified reason for such a huge size. 

Although the storage requirement is pretty high, fans are still hopeful about Starfield’s performance. Even Bethesda has a huge expectation from Starfield’s detailed gameplay mechanics. Despite the size, fans seemed to make up their mind about Starfield long back its release. 

Bethesda’s upcoming RPG asks for huge storage to install

Since the 9th of August, players can pre-load Starfield on their Xbox X/S Series and PC. However, what amused them before the launch is the game’s huge size. Starfield needs 139.84GB storage on PC and 126.1 GB storage for Xbox Series X/S for the installation. While you may think that it is quite a huge storage for a single game, then you should look at new generation gamers. Players nowadays believe that Starfield’s size is pretty considerable. In fact, they believe that Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 6 will be double in size than Starfield’s. 

Starfield will offer detailed outer-space-themed gameplay with thousands of planets, numerous moons, and space stations to explore. Even the game’s character creator tool is intensively detailed.

Now looking at the specifications, players can certainly understand why Starfield requires bigger storage. Furthermore, rumors suggested that Starfield’s huge storage will allow players to have impeccable immersive experiences in the gameplay. 

Fans raised thumbs up for Starfield’s bigger storage needs 

Starfield’s pre-load size requirements were initially shared by The Game Awards’ official Twitter account. However, the post was viral within minutes and many Starfield fans were spotted accepting the storage requirements of the game.

People were majorly excited for Starfield despite the game’s storage needs- “yeees.”

Starfield shared how they felt Grand Theft Auto 6 will be double in size- “That’s big, I can image GTA 6 being double that size.”

The majority believed that such huge storage requirements for next-generation games will be normal -“the next 10 years, 1TB for a game would be normal.”

However, some people also contradicted that the idea of 1TB storage for average games is not normal- “We just need to wait for the majority to have fast enough and compatible hardware. Of course 200+GB will be normal but not 1TB.”
