“I Don’t Have Someone Else Writing Dialogue for Me” – Stranger Things Actor and Twitch Streamer Grace Van Dien Delighted With Her Switch to Streaming as “It Feels More Like FaceTime With a Friend”

Stranger Things fame, Grace Van Dien, is now a Twitch streamer, and she is loving every minute of it! Van Dien played the character of Chrissy Cunningham in the first episode of season four of Stranger Things. While still not an official Twitch partner, Van Dien’s popularity as a character from Stranger Things has helped amass a huge following nevertheless. 

In March 2023, Van Dien stated she will be focusing more on time on streaming over acting. Van Dien streams herself playing games on her Twitch account @BlueFille, which has over 300,000 followers as of now.

Recently, Van Dien opened up about her streaming experience in a YouTube video. She stated that she started streaming after finishing up shooting for Stranger Things. A year into her streaming career now, she considers herself a variety streamer. Her content for streaming varies from playing video games with friends to Just Chatting streams where she talks with her audience and paints. 

I feel like the main difference between acting and streaming is I don’t have someone else writing dialogues for me,” Van Dien said. The actor-turned-streamer said she gets total control over what she is saying and doing, and who she is hanging out with in her streams. While loving her newfound success in streaming, Van Dien still loves acting and wants to find a common ground between both worlds.

I do live streams as well, where it feels more like face timing with a friend,” Van Dien said. She draws the line on the comparison of live streaming to reality TV, stating she was on a reality show when she was seven that got canceled for not being “dramatic” enough. She feels she won’t be canceled for not being dramatic enough while live streaming.

Van Dien opened up about being a lonely person herself and streaming is her way to connect with other lonely people and feel less lonely together. This ideology was her reason to start streaming and now she has made new friends like Pokimane, Valkyrae, Sykkuno, Disguised Toast, and Tarik, to name a few.

Grace Van Dien is having a blast streaming with her new friends. She recently joined a stream with OfflineTV members Disguised Toast and LilyPichu. In a Valorant lobby, Disguised Toast, LilyPichu, Tarik, and Sykkuno joined a lobby to stream with Van Dien known online as @BlueFille.

In her lobby with Disguised Toast and Tarik, Van Dien explored the new Valorant map. The trio had a fun banter between them and it was evident the fans enjoyed it too. “You guys are the best teammates in the world,” Van Dien stated in the stream, showing her affection for her new friends.
