Twitch staff member Seth Hendrix joined the stream and made comments implying assumptions on Heller’s part. This led to Heller expressing discomfort, feeling gaslit by Twitch staff, and abruptly ending his stream. The clip of this interaction went viral on Twitter, garnering attention and support from Thea Booysen, who expressed her disapproval saying, “I Don’t Like This at All”.

The catalyst for the current wave of protest stems from Twitch’s recently announced policy regarding embedded ads within streams.
