Streaming as a medium of content depends on the relationship between the streamer and their audience. Viewers only find interest in watching hours of live content of a streamer when they feel a connection with the individual. This connection could be friendly, admiring, and even romantic. All the big streamers, including Pokimane, xQc, Amouranth, and more, have at least one if not all these connections to their communities. 

But the catch with this relationship is that it is completely “parasocial”. No matter how close or intimate they may feel to a certain viewer, it always has to be considered that they are complete strangers in reality, and expecting anything else other than content will only end in disappointment or something much worse. 

A 12-year-old takes his shot at Pokimane 

In the streaming sphere, one of the most popular and influential female streamers of all time is Imane Anys, aka Pokimane. For a long time, Poki had been the face of the Twitch platform. In her years as an online content creator.

In the past, Imane had experienced many weird demeanors from her fans. Some of them went as far as tattooing an image of the streamer on their body and making a pillow with her face on it. These incidents happen so frequently that Poki has gotten somewhat used to it. Yet she was left shocked when a young Fortnite player took a shot at her.

In a recent stream, Poki interacted with a young fan in an online game of Fortnite. But unlike her previous encounters, this incident was much tamer. The fan only asked her if he could add her to Fortnite. But still, she couldn’t agree to his proposal, as letting people add her to Fortnite may hamper her privacy.  

“I feel bad, because I don’t wanna reject it, bro. I can’t add you. I can’t even have my adds on because then I will be getting pings all the time,” said Pokimane, giving context to why she can’t help but reject the proposal from the kid. Poki complained the devs shouldn’t let anyone hear the lobby after they leave, because that could have saved the situation. 

This wasn’t Poki’s first encounter with a 12-year-old. Years ago she was also paired with a 12-year-old kid in Fortnite. But this encounter was much wilder as the Kid didn’t shy away from letting her know that she’s hot and that’s why he likes her. He even went as far as asking for her number, which she sarcastically rejected.
