MrBeast voices combatting depression when getting fewer numbers on videos

Recently, MrBeast appeared on the podcast panel with MIT Research Scientist Lex Fridman. The enlightening podcast became a house of varied topics and discussions which inevitably raised the notion of overcoming depression. Fridman asked MrBeast if he ever faced depression following the underperformance of videos.

To this, MrBeast admitted, “Yeah it’s weird because I am a numbers guy, but also it used to… very much. Especially, when I was like betting everything I had on a video when it did bad I was devastated, I’d cry and I’d be depressed for days and it really would have a severe impact on my mood.” He also suggested that he would take an unemotional approach and figure out the cons of the videos and work on improving them in the future.

“The ideal way to respond to a video that’s doing bad, just remove emotion from the equation and just look at it and figure out how you can improve the next one,” suggested MrBeast to the YouTubers and creators venturing into the industry.

Narrowing the subject to MrBeast, who dumps millions in his videos, Fridman asked Jimmy how he detached himself from stress. Addressing that a lot is put on the line in his videos, Jimmy exclaimed, “The only real answer is it’s just the conscious effort. You just have to unemotionally look at the video, determine the problems and then move on.”

Moreover, he stated, “Like there is no secret you know what I mean, it’s just that’s, it’s that and if you really can’t bring yourself to do it then you’re just screwed, honestly, maybe you’re not meant for this game.”
