MrBeast is one of the biggest content creators on YouTube, with over 105 million subscribers. So, he needs to keep working on exciting videos to offer to his vast audience. But the scale of his videos is no joke, so he needs a team of around 60 people working with him on the videos.

Jimmy Donaldson is known for his giving nature. He has hosted many grand giveaways, where he gave away exotic items like Lamborghini to a probate island. Further, he does so many philanthropic acts. Despite these generous acts, the YouTuber was once accused of ill-treating his employees and creating a toxic workplace.

MrBeast was accused of creating a toxic workplace

The New York Times once hosted an interview with some of the former MrBeast employees who accused Jimmy Donaldson of creating a toxic environment at the workplace. They claimed the 24-year-old had a different demeanor off camera than the generous one that appears on the camera.

Matt Turner is a video editor who worked with the Carolina-born YouTuber for a year. He claimed to have near zero pleasant memories of working with the YouTube star. Turner revealed that Donaldson used to belittle and verbally abuse him regularly. Turner also told about never getting credit for his work. He shared, “I was not to be credited for anything I did. I’d ask for credit, he’d credit someone else.”

He even shared about mental breakdowns because of the regular bullying and abuse. Also, Turner wasn’t the only person to say about Donaldson’s wrongdoing with the employees. Another former employee, Nate Anderson, shared his poor work experience with MrBeast. Moreover, Anderson received a lot of heat from MrBeast fans, who even sent him death threats.

Not everyone had a bad work experience

Like in most companies, MrBeast’s employees also had different experiences. While Matt Turner and Nate Anderson complained about a toxic workplace, some enjoyed working there. Josh Hyman, a writer who worked with Jimmy, claimed the workplace felt like a family to him, and everyone treated each other greatly. He had a blast working for the YouTube megastar.
