“I Was So Proud”: Assassin’s Creed Mirage Voice Actor Speaks About Her Part in the Game

Shohreh Aghdashloo is the actor who played Roshan in the latest Assassin’s Creed Mirage. During the Assassin’s Creed Mirage Launch Celebration livestream, Youssef Maguid sat down with Shohreh, Lee Majdoub the voice actor for Basim, and Sarah Beaulieu the narrative director of Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

On stream, the four spoke about the upcoming upcoming game and shared some behind-the-scenes information on the game. During the interview, Shohreh was asked many questions about her experience working with Ubisoft to create this new release. And her response had the crowd captivated.

Shohreh Aghdashloo is an Iranian actress who was born in Tehran. The actress is known for her movies and has also received accolades like a Primetime Emmy Award and a Satellite Award. Ubisoft already had her in mind when it came to playing the voice actor for Roshan. When Shohreh agreed, the team was thrilled to work with her. Sarah also mentioned that working with her and hearing Roshan for the first time was quite powerful.

When Youssef asked Shohreh about her experience of playing Roshan, she replied by asking him a question. She asked, ” What kind of an actress does not want to lend her voice to a courageous woman who stands up for justice?”. “Obviously I was so proud” she added. She went on to thank Sarah for the opportunity.

Shohreh continued to explain “You know, at the end of the day, us actors, we’re storytellers. The story needs to connect to us”. She also mentioned that when she read the story first, she fell in love with it. Lee then went ahead to compliment Shohreh’s performance and commended Ubisoft for the narrative. Lee added that it is rare that people see a strong, Middle Eastern, woman of an older age be the guiding light of the story.

What else was covered at the Assassin’s Creed Mirage Launch Celebration Livestream?

During the Launch Celebration Livestream for AC Mirage, fans got to see a sneak peek at a lot of behind-the-scenes information about the game. Many people from the Ubisoft Bordeaux production team came forward to share their experience with making the game. A small keynote was made by the level designer, character concept artist, senior game designer, associate art director, creative director, and lead producer of the game.

The theme song of Assassin’s Creed Mirage was made by One Republic featuring Mishaal Tamer. The artists shared their experience of working on the game and their latest release called “Mirage” was showcased. Players also got to see how the sound team captured the tales of Baghdad. The live stream also showcased how the art team used calligraphy and poetry to design things like the skill tree and general art style for the game.

Fans of the series also got to see the progress on Assassin’s Creed Nexus the VR experience that is coming on November 16. Players also got to see the unboxing of the collector case for Assassin’s Creed Mirage and the unboxing was done by the voice actors for the game. The rest of the stream from that point out was gameplay, where fans could see exactly what Assassin’s Creed will entail for the first time.
