God of War: Ragnarok won the hearts of critics and gamers alike all over the world. At one point, it was even second on the list of most boxed copies sold in the UK. So there are no doubts about the fact that this game is one of the most successful PlayStation exclusives ever made.

The most prominent people to be credited for this game’s success are creative director Cory Barlog, who also directed the 2018’s God of War, and Ragnarök’s director Eric Williams. He really brought perfection to everything that Cory Barlog started back in 2018. And now he is ready for something very different altogether.

After Kratos, Eric Williams wants to tell Gabriel’s story

Eric Williams recently was on the latest episode of “Kinda Funny Games Spoilercast” and during his conversation with the hosts, he revealed that he would love to work on a Castlevania game if someone could secure him a license.

He went on to tell the hosts that they can make it happen on account of their having a large audience around the world.

So, fans of both series are super excited about this comment. Some are already praying that this happens. Some are even taking this comment of Eric Williams as a confirmation that he might be hinting at some upcoming Castlevania game that Santa Monica Studios is working on.

For many fans, God of War: Ragnarok was an unforgettable experience. If he gets his hands on Konami’s classic franchise, fans might get an unforgettable experience.

Castlevania and God of War are not so different

Castlevania is a series so legendary, that it started its own genre, called Metroidvania. And we must not forget, God of War itself follows these traits. On the other hand, Castlevania games have classic hack-and-slash gameplay combined with some RPG tropes.

So we just hope we get to see a Castlevania developed by Sony Santa Monica soon. Konami is already releasing Silent Hill 2 Remake on PlayStation 5 as a console exclusive. So it would not be a surprise if we see a Playstation 5 exclusive Castlevania happen.
