Neil Ellice, the actor behind the fan-beloved character Soap has put up a post on X, formerly Twitter. “I’m deeply grateful“, says Ellice to his fans for changing his life forever. He also goes on to say he’ll always be there for the fans. The short post doesn’t explain much and leaves things open-ended. Yet, despite its apparent mystery, some long-time fans of the CoD franchise might be able to draw conclusions based on their previous knowledge and experiences.

For those who remember Soap’s fate in the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2011) game, this message will come with a hint of sinister. An operation gone wrong saw the character meeting his untimely end and the scene remains one of the most talked about moments in the entire franchise.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is being showered with good things

Ahead of its launch, the latest Call of Duty title is already receiving raving reviews. Some fans are worried that the game’s size is too big for them, but it isn’t something that’d deter players from getting the game for themselves.
