Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson has been known to lavishly gift strangers through challenges to fulfill the entertainment quotient in his videos. He is also known for his philanthropic deeds. The media organization Insider shared an interview with Jeffrey Yaple, one of the patients featured in the video. Yaple is a 64-year-old man from Jacksonville, Florida, who had cataracts for two years and had sight issues since he was 15. He signed up for “Vision is Priceless,” a Florida-based initiative. This initiative’s president Dr. Jeffrey Levenson had collaborated with MrBeast. Thus, Yaple got the news of his eye surgery being paid for by MrBeast.

Yaple agreed not to have known anything about MrBeast before the surgery. Recalling his meeting with Jimmy, he said, “I shook his hand twice and thanked him out of gratitude, but I also chatted to him like he was a regular guy because I didn’t realize how big of a deal he was at the time. Maybe if I’d had watched some of his videos beforehand, I would have been more starstruck, but he was just like another kid to me. “

He was also aware of the ‘heat’ that Jimmy had been getting regarding the video. Addressing this issue, he said, “I personally don’t think he was doing this for publicity. Everything he does is going to generate publicity because he’s so famous, but I’m pretty sure this was from the heart.”
