Spider-Man 2 is on its way and everyone knows it. Sony announced it a long while ago exclusively for PlayStation 5. Insomniac games are also working hard on the game, which is rumored to be released sometime in 2023.

The people connected to this game have a number of things to say too. The actor who plays Venom in the upcoming sequel praised the direction the sequel is taking. And then the actor who previously played Harry Osborn in the game mentioned how the game was going for a photorealistic look.

There is no end to these teasers, and the latest and most recent one might be signifying that the game’s release is not very far after all.

An update on Spider-Man 2 might not be edging closer

And now we are even closer to getting an update on this upcoming AAA title. After numerous rumors and teasers, fans have gotten a tease from the community director of Insomniac games, James Stevenson.

Stevenson recently posted a tweet with a gif showing a clip from a previously released teaser showing Peter Parker and Miles Morales in the same shot.

Going by what was shown in the announcement trailer itself, Miles Morales would be part of this story. There are also numerous suggestions that this game might have a far darker story than the previous titles.

The announcement teaser showed Spider-Man and Miles Morales fighting a bunch of enemies when all of a sudden they see something in a dark alley. It is later revealed to be Venom. This trailer also started the speculation that maybe this game would be a cooperative experience with players controlling both characters simultaneously.

We would have to wait for a proper reveal to know if these speculations have any truth to them.

Fans get curious after James Stevenson teases a potential update regarding the game

James Stevenson’s teaser has indeed peaked excitement in the fan community, but it has also invited questions like “why did Sony not show it at TGAs?” Now this question does not come out of nowhere either. All those teases before the Game Awards led fans to believe that they would get to see Spider-Man 2 during the award show.

2023 nevertheless is going to be a huge year for gamers. PlayStation 5 users would be getting Forspoken, Silent Hill 2, and Spider-Man 2, while Xbox users would be getting Starfield and probably Fable. So let us wait and watch what happens.
