Is the Last of Us multiplayer game canceled? Or is it just on ice and has a chance of launching sometime in the future? Ever since Naughty Dog laid off a bunch of developers, the Internet has been overflown by the news of this project suffering due to all those layoffs.
There have been a number of rumors regarding the same. The most prominent one shocked everyone when a person on X said that Naughty Dog had canceled this online game. Is it really canceled, though? Jason Schreier, one of the most prominent leaders in gaming, has something to say about it.

When it was made official that Jim Ryan would be stepping down as president of Sony PlayStation, people were not surprised. The Last of Us multiplayer, or Factions, is one such game. After the Jim Ryan news broke out, the first thing that happened was Naughty Dog’s firing of their contractors. Then they fired the monetization expert they had hired to work on the multiplayer game. And eventually, people started wondering if this game was canceled. But Jason Schreier decided to speak up on this matter and made one thing clear: the account spreading these cancellation rumors is “a random Twitter” account, and no one is significant.

Where is the game, though?
While Jason might have dismissed the rumors of this cancellation in a cryptic manner, one thing is still not clear: where is this game anyway? The Last of Us Part 2 was released back in 2020. It’s been three years since its launch; there’s got to be something Naughty Dog is working on.
