When Frank West first appeared in Dead Rising in 2006, Capcom found a genre of success for themselves. The fans loved the fast-paced game so much that it spawned multiple sequels of this zombie title. But following the performance of Dead Rising 4 on Xbox One, the fans were considering this title to be dead. Even Capcom was not focusing on this series, diverting their attention to the Resident Evil 4 remake.

Now, the fans of this zombie action-adventure game can get excited yet again. This is due to an industry insider making a coy announcement for the series stating it is coming very soon.

Is a new Dead Rising game in the works?

Industry pundit Jez Corden coyly leaked the rumors about the upcoming Dead Rising title. He was in fact talking about the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 being a PlayStation 5 exclusive when a fan commented on what console to buy. The fan bought an Xbox for playing Dead Rising. But as the latest version of the zombie series was a disappointment, he was looking at PS5 to play Spider-Man. He was a lot confused about what console to buy.

Corden cleared some doubts for the Dead Rising fan, stating, “If you’re a Dead Rising fan there might be something on the horizon for you too…” This has piqued the excitement of many fans of the zombie title who wanted to know more details from the industry insider.

But Corden has remained coy about this reveal and has not divulged much information. He also stated to the fan that the best platform is in fact PC, as it eventually gets everything.

The upcoming zombie title will be a reboot

While not giving much information up, Corden did reveal one significant bit. Fans were worried about Capcom developing it like the disastrous fourth part of the series. One fan asked whether the upcoming sequel is like the third or the fourth Dead Rising.

To this Corden has revealed the title will be like neither as it will be a reboot. This may come as a ray of sunshine for the fan of the series. Capcom may take the best elements from each of the titles in the original series and insert them into the rumored reboot.
