Infinity Ward took to Twitter to share how they made Ghost’s mask for the much-anticipated Call of Duty game. Simon “Ghost” Riley is one of the most popular characters in the Call of Duty franchise. He belongs to Task Force 141, the famous multinational special operations force. In fact, he owes his nickname to the mask he wears.

According to the popular lore, Riley was subjected to a lot of trauma as a child before he decided to join the military. Even while in the military, he was once captured by members of a prominent drug cartel and tortured heavily. After escaping, Riley took a lot of time to recover from the experience. Eventually, he ended the drug cartel and its leader’s existence. Afterward, he joined Task Force 141 as the Ghost.

Fans have created several theories revolving around his attachment to wearing a mask, which has also made him an extremely intriguing character.

Ghost will be returning to fight alongside players and other Task 141 members in the upcoming much-anticipated COD Modern Warfare II! He has been a major part of the franchise ever since its inception. As a result, some fans seemed to have an unexpected reaction to Ghost’s new mask.
