According to twitch, swatting is “when someone makes a false report to emergency services in an attempt to bring about the dispatch of a large number of armed police officers (a SWAT team) to a given address.” This is a violation of the platform’s community guidelines and can cause legal action against the “prankster” if caught.

Fans express their distaste for the swatters

The incident was highly criticized on social media. Internet journalist Jake Lucky reported the news from his official Twitter account with the caption, “I really hope 2023 the year where things finally get done to the morons who swat streamers”.

But he wasn’t the only one talking in support of the streamer. Many Twitter users also rushed into the replies to criticize and express their distaste towards people who falsely accuse report streamers to the police.
