The massive takeover of Activision and Blizzard by Xbox has changed the ecosystem forever. No one could have imagined that industry leaders like ZeniMax Studio, Activision and Blizzard will one day all become a part of Microsoft. The studio is expected to complete its acquisition in 2023 with the deal costing around 70 billion dollars.
With each share costing $95, Microsoft has paid a cumulative of $68.7 billion, all in cash. This raises many key questions revolving around the merger and how it will impact the day-to-day operations. With a comprehensive report of 9 pages, Activision has tried to answer all the questions that employees and stakeholders would love to know.

The deal is going to take a long to close out, and prior to that, how will companies continue working in 2022? The 32nd question of the massive 9-page report provided the answer to that question.
“Before the deal closes, will Activision Blizzard be able to use Microsoft resources to support its goals?
No, and vice versa. Both companies will continue to operate independently until transaction close, which we expect to be in Microsoft’s fiscal year ending June 2023.”

Activision and Blizzard can continue working on their product

This massive merger will not impact any ongoing project that the studio is currently is taking on. Throughout 2022, teams will have a free hand to make any decision they deem necessary to produce their titles. Answering yet another question about how various teams will function in the future.
