Is Battlefield franchise dying? Or is it just 2042? The Battlefield franchise has always been one of the most hyped and beloved gaming series of all time. Soon after the announcement of Battlefield 2042, the title started to make the rounds on the internet as one of the most awaited games of the year. However, unfortunately, after its official release, all the hype and expectations crashed to the ground.

The title has been an absolute mess. And unfortunately, the situation might have just taken a turn for the worse. The Battlefield community rages over game disappointment as now it has been labeled as a “dead game.” Truly, the title was filled with disappointment for the majority of the players out there.

In an interesting Reddit post discussion, the community revealed how the game is almost officially dead. According to some players, with 2042, the whole franchise is on the edge of dying completely. It definitely looks like players are pretty upset with Electronic Arts for releasing an unfinished product after setting the expectation bar too high for Battlefield 2042.

While pointing out the main issues, one Redditor wrote, “It feels like the franchise is dead. It doesn’t feel like EA or the devs have the ability or just basic understanding of what the community wants or why it is fundamentally that franchises gameplay was so popular.”

Online petition for Battlefield 2042 refunds

From multiple annoying bugs to major issues, the game was almost unplayable for the majority of players. Naturally, the players even called out the developers for a full refund on the game. According to the online petition made on Charge.org, the game was an unfinished product with a plethora of issues and bugs. Taking “false advertising” into account, Electronic Arts has been called for a full refund on their disastrous product.

The petition also highlighted the point that the game has caused the consumers millions of dollars and has disappointed a large section of their customers worldwide. At the time of writing, the petition has already crossed over 1,83,636.
