The Tomb Raider series has witnessed a rollercoaster ride ever since the rebooted survivor trilogy wrapped up in 2018. In the recent years, this IP has seen various changes. Especially when it comes to its ownership by different firms. Currently, it comes under the Embracer Group. However, the latter has been making some unexpected transitions lately, while affecting many of its developing studios.

Is Lara Croft’s next Tomb Raider game getting delayed?

Embracer had announced an internal restructuring back in June. While issuing an open letter, it mentioned that there will be many layoffs. Crystal Dynamics took to social media to assure the fans that it wasn’t affected by this decision. In fact, it had clarified that there will be no impact on its efforts of working on the next Tomb Raider title.

Now it looks like the situation has gone from bad to worse. The studio recently dropped a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), while revealing that it has laid off 10 of its employees so far. Further, Crystal Dynamics explained it was difficult, but they had no other choice.
