In the world of Call of Duty, few accomplishments are as thrilling and challenging as securing the Tactical Nuke Killstreak. While this is a difficult feat to pull off, it is definitely one of the most exciting ways to win the game. Call of Duty MW2 brings the concept of a Tactical nuke to the game. Upon launching the Tactical Nuke, the round ends, and the team that deploys the weapon automatically wins.

Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) will bring back this iconic feat of devastation. Although it won’t be the same as it was seen in the original Modern Warfare 3, players are excited to see what has been implemented.

The MGB (Mass Guided Bombs) Tactical Nuke in Call of Duty

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 brings back the Tactical Nuke but this time it’s not the infamous MOAB (Mother of All Bombs). The upcoming MW3 game changes things up a little and introduces the MGB.  Just like the MOAB, these Mass Guided Bombs require a killstreak to deploy. But unlike its predecessor, the MGB will not require a kill streak of 25. In order to launch the MGB Tactical Nuke players will need a remarkable 30-kill streak in a single match to unlock its destructive power.

This increase in the required number of kills makes the challenge all the most difficult, making it a formidable achievement. Players will need to demonstrate exceptional skills and adaptability to reach this milestone. It is to be noted that players are not allowed to use any other killstreaks while in the game until they reach 25 kills in order to get the Tactical Nuke.

Once players have achieved the impressive 30-kill streak without a single death, the MGB Tactical Nuke option will prominently appear on their screen. Initiating it is as simple as pressing the right button on the D-Pad. The in-game character will swiftly input a code into a tablet, setting off a brief countdown before the devastating bomb is launched. This will count as an instant victory for the team that drops the nuke, irrespective of the score.

What are the main differences between the MGB and the MOAB?

While the MOAB and the MGB Tactical Nuke share a requirement for an exceptionally high kill streak, they also have a few key differences. Back in the 2011 Modern Warfare game, players need a kill streak of 25 kills to get access to the MOAB. The upcoming 2023 remake of MW3 will require a kill streak of 30 kills making it a much harder task than in the older games.

Notably, in MW3, players don’t need to equip the Killstreak before the match. If players manage to secure 30 kills consecutively during a match, the Nuke will automatically become available to them. This contrasts with the MOAB, which required equipping the Killstreak before entering the game.

Calling in the Tactical Nuke is a game-changer in every sense. It doesn’t merely conclude the current match but it also secures an instant victory for the team. This underscores the importance of vigilance towards enemy players who approach the 30-kill milestone. Intercepting them can prevent the release of the Nuke, ensuring that the game continues. That being said, have you ever claimed victory for your team by using the Tactical Nuke function? Let us know in the comments below!
