The ongoing year has been a golden run for Microsoft in the gaming business. The console giants have made every possible move to make their case in dominating the console rivalry. From planning to acquire the Call of Duty makers to giving Starfield unprecedented hype, Xbox could do no wrong. Following the hot running streak, another Xbox announcement has taken over the gaming headlines. 

The strategists at Microsoft have certainly decided to broaden the spectrum of Xbox in the industry. What already looked like a promising lineup for Xbox products for 2023, another visionary project has just spiced the mix. However, this newly announced product is no game or a console. Well, the company has decided to venture into another string as they launch a credit card reaching out to the hardcore gamers. 

Xbox Credit Card: What perks does it offer to gamers?

Making its debut in the financial markets, Xbox came up with its own MasterCard. The console-branded credit card has been envisioned under the partnership with Barclays in the United States. The planned Mastercard launch promises to offer a lot of perks to gamers along with no annual fees.

Microsoft Store purchases earn 5x card points, while Netflix and Disney+ purchases earn 3x points. Additionally, the card offers 3x points on orders from Grubhub and DoorDash and 1x points on all other purchases. With no annual charge and a number of benefits including 5x card points on purchases from the Microsoft Store and 3x points on Netflix and Disney+, the Xbox Mastercard may be appealing to gamers. Additionally, the card offers 3x points on orders from Grubhub and DoorDash and 1x points on all other purchases.

Additionally, following their first purchase, cardholders receive three months of Game Pass Ultimate and 5,000 card points, worth roughly $50. Game Pass subscribers can give this subscription to a friend or family member. Moreover, the company offers four look choices to their owners with no changes in fee. Players can also use the feature of gamertag on the card. According to the schedule planned, the MasterCard would be available by September 21 only to the Xbox Insiders in America. The full-fledged market launch is expected to go on the floors next year. 

Internet is divided after fans break down the math 

The launch announcement wasn’t received as warmly as the makers would have envisioned. Unlike the other ventures of the console brand, this one actually had the fans breaking down the mathematical projections. The card wouldn’t be offering any perk assistance to the accounts blocked by Microsoft. But the condition that sparked the online debate was on the APR. The annual percentage rate being offered currently is around 20.99% to 31.99% fluctuating in response to the credit score.
