Over the years, content creation has become a widely recognized occupation in the community. Among all the YouTube streamers, Valkyrae has established an enormous empire in such a short period of time. Rachell “Rae” Hofstetter, better known as Valkyrae, is one of the most popular female streamers in the world.

However, she had several doubts about herself before becoming such an iconic name on the platform. In a recent interview, Rae confessed that she was not sure about becoming a full-time streamer and was concerned about her future financially. She also mentioned that her past lover was not supportive of Rae’s dreams.

Becoming a renowned streamer in the community is not an effortless task. Indeed, creators face a lot of hardships at the start of their careers, and Valkyrae‘s outstanding performance is incomparable. However, Rae did share her own up and down after starting as a full-time streamer.

The most common issue that mainly every creator faces is the lack of support from their loved ones. Interestingly, Rae opened up about her past life and how her past lover never supported Rae’s dream. In the interview, she even mentioned that her past relationship was too toxic to handle.

She said, “My relationship at the time which was also very toxic. I remember vividly when I made this Instagram account for gaming. It was called ‘Legend of Rae’. I remember showing my ex was like, so I was like, what if I could do this for a living look at 3,000 followers like people are following me for this gaming stuff?”

Later, she describes how her past lover reacted and started making fun of her, which was indeed quite inconsiderate for Rae. In her own word. “He just made fun of me and said it was embarrassing. After that interviewer asked Rae if this means she was not even supported by the closest person in her life. To this Rae agreed and said,” I wasn’t.”

Naturally, it must be very painful for Rae to get support from the closest person in her life. However, Rae fans are always grateful that their idol didn’t quit even after all such obstacles and continued to become a full-time streamer and put smiles on millions.

Rae on her father’s battling cancer situation

Unfortunately, the lack of support was not the only stumbling block ‘The Queen of YouTube’ faced in her career. Surprisingly, Rae had to take care of her dad, who was fighting a battle with cancer. Indeed, Rae described the last 6 months spent with him as the most painful and sorrowful experience as well.

In her own words, she said, “It was really traumatic seeing what my dad went through in person like firsthand. It was insane, like seeing someone you love just forgets you.” However, she claimed that streaming was the only important part of her life that helped her during the hard times.
