Back in November, the British YouTube Sensation KSI had lost $10,000 worth of amazon gift card codes from his giveaway video. The gift codes were claimed before the video was published. There was no clear explanation about how the codes got stolen. KSI had speculated that other than he and his editor, the video was only watched by the staff at YouTube.

After each upload, an employee at YouTube checks manually them to see if the video is suitable for adverts. And because the codes were claimed even before the video was live, it was only obvious that all fingers were pointed at the YT staff.
Sidemen claim the KSI should sue YouTube for his loss
On November 27, 2022, KSI made a tweet saying, “Well…No point trying to collect the gift cards in the latest TNTL. It’s been claimed before the video is even out lmao. It’s not me, it’s not Mo, the only person that’s watched the video is someone at YouTube to check whether the video should be demonetised or not”.
The Tweet was made in the context of one of his “Try Not to Laugh” videos. In that video, KSI had made a giveaway of Amazon gift codes but the codes got claimed even before the video was live. In a recent episode of the official podcast of Sidemen, Side+, the group were discussing this controversy and shared their takes.

In the podcast, one of the members, Ethan “Behzinga”, said, “JJ could sue YouTube.” As all the fingers are pointing at the YouTube staff, the group suggested KSI should take legal action against the platform and demand compensation for his loss.
Talking about YouTube, Vikkstar123 shared some clarification, “When you upload a video, it gets sent to YouTube staff. They manually review it to see if it’s safe to have adverts on it. What seems to have happened is someone (from YouTube) watching it has been like, ‘hang on a second’.” Zerka added, “But at the same time, it’s one pr*ck at YouTube if it’s the case right.”
“JJ is so rich and carefree, if they’d have banged two cards, he would’ve been like, ‘Oh, that’s weird. Two cards are gone. Oh well. I’ll just put the video out.’ But they’ve taken every single card!” Vik exclaimed how desperate the culprit was as they took all the codes instead of one or two.
