Jack Black Takes the Centre Stage Performing “Peaches” at Hollywood Bowl for The Game Awards 10th Anniversary and Stealing Hearts of Nintendo Fans

The Super Mario Bros. Movie has been winning hearts and shattering records. The Nintendo-Universal collaboration is on its way to becoming the highest-grossing animated movie ever. While Mario and Luigi are obviously the two main characters in the movie, Bowser has risen to be the unexpected people’s champion. Fans saw the fearsome princess-nabbing monster to have a soft side, that wooed many movie-goers. Now Jack Black, the musician responsible for voicing Bowser, took center stage performing Bowser’s ballad-like “Peaches” from the movie and fans can’t stop saying how great he is.

In the Hollywood Bowl 2023, Black performed in his signature style for the 10th Anniversary Game Awards.

After its release, fans and movie lovers alike praised lavishly the Super Mario Bros. Movie. Critics also gave an approving nod to the movie. The Mario movie has already overtaken Disney’s Frozen to become the second highest-grossing animated movie ever, second only to Frozen 2. Many believe that the movie has what it takes to topple even the leader on the list to set a benchmark for others to follow.

The immense success of the movie was also attributed to Hollywood star Jack Black, who is a renowned video game fan himself. His voice made Bowser a character who everyone loved, even after kidnapping Princess Peach. In the movie, Bowser seems to be deeply in love with the princess, partially why he kidnaps her in the first place. His ode to his love, “Peaches” became a fan-favorite and many won’t stop humming the tunes.

The 10th Anniversary Game Awards at the Hollywood Bowl was something special. To mark a milestone reached, a performance by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra performed famous tunes from classic and new video game titles. Fans were already having a great time, before being blown away by an unexpected performance.

During a segment dedicated to Mario, the tunes of peaches suddenly echoed through the Hollywood Bowl auditorium. Fans went wild as Jack Black suddenly took to the stage and started singing the song that depicts Bowser’s yearning for Princess Peach. While fans are used to Black’s quirky roles in movies, his singing The Super Mario Bros. Movie song live was something of a special incident. Black was adorned by a green Bowser suit, which shows how much he is into the character from the popular franchise.

Fans can’t wait for a sequel to the Mario Bros. movie and have their fingers crossed to see Jack Black in it.
