Jacksepticeye Shares the Story Behind ‘Brain Leak’, the Spotify Podcast That Uncrowned The Joe Rogan Experience

The Podcast scene is at its all-time high. Following the lockdown days, the demand for online podcasts has skyrocketed. Seeing the opportunity, many content creators and renowned personalities dipped their toes in the scene. Recently YouTube’s gaming legend Jacksepticeye alongside his friend and fellow creator CrankGameplays have also started their own podcast venture, Brain Leak. 

Only with its first episode, the podcast broke all the records. Brain Leak took the No. 1 spot from Joe Rogan on Spotify’s top podcasts charts. The mixed chaotic content from the duo resulted in a highly entertaining yet charming podcast episode. But what was the story behind their joining forces? Continue reading to know more.

Jack is a YouTube veteran. He has been on the platform for more than a decade. He is one of the OG Gamers who helped pave the path for modern YouTube gaming. But gaming is not the only creative identity of this Irish sensation. Besides making gaming videos, Jack makes a variety of content.

From making short movies to hosting celebrity interviews, Jack has done it all. But even after all of this, he wanted a new challenge and a venue to interact more with his friends. That is how the idea of doing a podcast struck his mind. “I haven’t been challenging myself and I think this challenges me in a good way,” said Jack.

“It’s an excuse to hangout with friends,” said Jacksepticeye. “It also gives us an excuse to see each other more. Like you will come to LA more and I hopefully come out there more,” added Ethan aka CrankGameplays. The concept of Brain wasn’t only a professional venture for both creators; it was an avenue for them to be more outgoing with each other. 

“Last year I had kinda been lonely and miserable and depressed and just sitting at home and being like ‘man, I like what I do, but doing the same version of it over and over again, I haven’t been really challenging myself,’” said Jack. Being a YouTube gamer may seem fun from a distance but in reality, creating the same content on daily basis is more than exhausting, both physically and mentally.

And to tackle a new challenge and become more social and outgoing with friends, Both Jack and Ethan started their venture, Brain Leak. You can also listen to Brain Leak on their official YouTube channel.
