Ever since its release, Super Mario Bros. Wonder has been strongly dominating the gaming trends. It has received an overwhelming reception from Nintendo fans all over the world. The game is also being widely admired by critics. Thus, it was about time the title reached Jimmy Fallon’s gaming library. Well, it did reach The Late Night Show in a nail-biting contest against star rapper Black Thought.

In the latest episode of The Late Night Show, Jimmy Fallon introduced his audience to an interesting segment that included some hardcore eSports. The host had a setup for a contest against Tariq Trotter aka Black Thought. The instructions were quite simple: the player who finished first in an online friend race would be crowned the “winner”. But before beginning with the battle, Jimmy was quick to express his admiration for the Nintendo Switch special.
“Guys, one of the biggest video games out right now is Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Everybody is talking about it. This is the hottest new game, it’s going to be during all the holidays. It’s fantastic. I thought it would be funny to go head-to-head against Tariq Trotter in an online friend race to see who the Super Mario Bros. Wonder champ is once and for all,” the host stated, hyping up the contest.

What made the race more exciting was an added condition introduced by the host. The show divided its audience into two fragments, one being under the red (Mario) side and the other half under the green (Yoshi) side. “If I win everyone on the Mario side will go home with a copy of Super Mario Bros. Wonder and a brand new Nintendo Switch OLED.” Meanwhile, the green side would benefit similarly if Yoshi won.
Although it was an intense race, Jimmy Fallon’s experience helped him claim the “crown.”
The host’s never-ending love for Mario and Nintendo!
The world is no stranger to The Tonight’s Show’s host’s love for Mario. The entertainer’s association with the character goes back to some old classic releases of Nintendo.
