The video gaming community is all set to welcome 2023 which will expose gamers to a new generation of games. 2022 has undoubtedly been a magnificent year with the introduction of games like God of War: Ragnarok, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, and many others. However, the community seems divided between the free games provided by Xbox and PlayStation.

The community is celebrating the record-setting release of the Xbox Game Pass title High on Life which further became the biggest launch of 2022. With 2023 just around the corner, PlayStation and Xbox released the list of games that will come free for gamers. However, while PlayStation was successful in impressing the fans Xbox left them disappointed.

Xbox fans show utter disappointment with the choice of free games as compared to PlayStation

The inevitable fan war between PlayStation and Xbox has been going on which does give some fruitful benefits to the video gaming community. A few days back, PlayStation released the monthly games that will be included in PlayStation Plus for January. As per the blog, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Fallout 76, and Axiom Verge 2 will be available from January 3, 2023.

This certified that the subscribers of the PlayStation Plus membership will get two AAA titles accompanied by an indie title. On the other hand, Xbox mentioned Iris Fall and Autonauts as free under the Games with Gold program. Thereby, no AAA titles were mentioned along with the two indie titles.

This seemed to have created a rift in the community as the fans were disappointed to see Xbox’s game choice for Game with Gold. A user tweeted, “Just cancel xbl gold already if you’re going to put zero effort into games with gold.” Moreover, another user tweeted, “Yall start the year off like the whole of 2022. Embarassing.”

A fan while drawing a straight comparison said, “Playstation get Jedi Fallen Order and Fallout 76 meanwhile we get 2 sh*t indie games no ones even heard of. Its been bad for like 4 years but f**k me has it got worse with no Xbox 360 games. Just kill games with gold already and focus more on game pass or something at this point.”
