It seems like the streamer xQc cannot escape the drama even if he is trying desperately to escape the clutches of Twitch. The Candian streamer is the latest in a long line of popular content creators who have joined Kick over streaming regulation controversies of Twitch. However, right after joining the new streaming site, xQc immediately was faced with the site’s own regulations that made him stop his stream.

In a recent Reddit post on the group r/LivestreamFail, fans couldn’t stop discussing the policies of Kick to determine whether such a move comes as a surprise or not.

xQc goes over to Kick to protest against Twitch regulations

xQc only recently joined Kick after ditching the Amazon-owned platform Twitch declared a plethora of regulation changes regarding what may be streamed by content creators. Many popular content creators have openly criticized the restrictive new set of regulations by the purple platform and have decided to move away to other streaming platforms. MrBeast is among such bloggers to break away from Twitch and has been trying hard to get his YouTube viewing numbers to be higher post the Twitch controversies.

xQc signed a staggering $100 million contract with Kick that raised many eyebrows because of its stupifying amount. The Overwatch player defended his actions fiercely saying he did what he needed to do to secure his future and fans cannot be mad at him over this. His ideals have kept him from signing bigger deals even before, but the deal with Kick made sense to him. However, now it seems that the streamer is facing trouble streaming content with his new streaming partner as well.

DMCA regulation made xQc stop mid-stream

In a recent stream on Kick, xQc was watching The Dark Knight by Warner Bros. Studios. While this has been done by many streamers before, even on Twitch itself,  xQc had to stop the stream when a Kick staff joined his live stream to tell him that such content violates their DMCA regulations and hence, the streamer needs to stop.

The staff reportedly wrote in the chat section of xQc’s live stream to write “Hello there, we would like to notify you that streaming the specific content is in violation of our DMCA policy. Therefore, we kindly ask you to stop your live stream and be aware that we will need to remove the current VOD containing this content“. The comment made xQc quickly take the queue and stop streaming.

After only recently making heads turn with a mind-boggling contract deal, it remains to be seen whether xQc can make his transition smooth in the new platform or again has to abide by the new streaming policies here.
