Once dominated by Twitch, the streaming world has seen the rises and falls of many streaming platforms. While YouTube is there, it is not wholly a streaming-oriented platform. Microsoft had also tried its hands on the streaming industry with the introduction of Mixer in 2016. But amidst severe competition and an inability to pay heed to streamers’ issues, it was shut down four years later. But after all of this, Twitch seems to have found a worthy opponent in Kick.
After the arrival of Kick, many popular streamers have left Twitch’s exclusive contracts to join the newly budding streaming platform Kick. Now, another famous streamer has followed those streamers’ paths. So, who is he? Let’s find out.

Sapnap Turns Green from Purple
Renowned Minecraft streamer Nicholas ”Nick”, better known as Sapnap, is going to join the TrainwrecksTV-backed platform Kick. He started his streaming career on YouTube, streaming Minecraft. But he really burst onto the scene when he founded Dream SMP Server and became known for his Minecraft challenge videos with the Dream Team.
After joining Twitch in 2013, he garnered 3,302,411 followers. Now, coming to the Kick, Sapnap announced his Kick joining in probably the most unique way. He has shared a video in which we can see him streaming and his neon purple Twitch nameplate continuously falls off from his desk behind him. Feeling frustrated, he throws the plate.

Right after, someone knocks on his door and hands him a package, in which he finds out a neon green-colored Twitch nameplate, which he placed on the same desk where the Twitch nameplate was. Kick also announced his joining the Kick family with their official Twitter handle.

Kick started gaining prominence on March 29, 2023, when American Chess Grandmaster Hikaru “GMHikaru” joined the Twitch rival. Then came the groundbreaking deal that shook everyone in the gaming industry when Kick signed Canadian streamer and former Overwatch professional Felix Lengyel, aka xQc, with a two-year non-exclusive deal worth a staggering $100 million.
It didn’t end here. On August 7, famous ASMR content creator Kaitlyn Siragusa, aka Amouranth, joined Kick with a $30 million deal. These are not the only ones, as many other popular streamers and gaming personalities have joined Kick.
