Christopher Judge has remained the lead voice actor for Kratos in the God of War Franchise since it was announced in 2016. Fans have shown immense love and adoration for the character of Kratos and Judge’s voice. Judge revealed that Ragnarok was delayed because he had to go through surgeries in fall 2019. Furthermore, owing to the pandemic, there had been several setbacks and delays on the development side which compromised their safety as well. Judge acknowledged all of these reasons in a tweet that he posted.

Eric Williams returned as the director for Ragnarok and Barlog took up the role as a producer with Sony Santa Monica. Judge was convinced by Barlog to remain part of the God of War team, which he recently revealed through a Tweet.
