Last year, Embracer Group purchased the rights to the Tomb Raider franchise featuring Lara Croft. For years, Square Enix was the home of the iconic female character. But everything changed when Embracer acquired the IP for $300 million. After the deal, it was believed that the new home would offer fresh, adventurous tales featuring the protagonist. Even more shocking is that the IP was allegedly sold for double the price of what Embrace paid in 2022. All things considered, Lara Croft has found a new home again in less than a year!
