A debate isn’t what Hogwarts Legacy fans want right now, as they wait for a concrete release date from Avalanche Studios. The year is about to hit August and the much-anticipated Holiday 2022 release, Hogwarts Legacy, is still yet to get a release date. Although the standard edition of the game is up for pre-orders via select retailers, many fans are waiting for Avalanche to announce the premium editions.

As Avalanche Software, the brain behind Hogwarts Legacy tries to satisfy the anticipation with teasers from the game, fans cannot help but demand a release date. The game has previously suffered considerable delays, leading to fans speculating a negative possibility. However, most fan theories and insider leaks, as of now, point to a release date of December 6, 2022.

Although the team has, on several official occasions, reiterated the release window of Winter/Holiday 2022, fans are still having a hard time believing the same. In fact, some speculations hint at a slight possibility of a second delay, exactly what enthusiasts don’t want at this time.

To add to the fire, new speculation has thrown old release date theories off track, sparking a huge debate among fans.

Hogwarts Legacy may release in late December

As an eagle-eyed fan on Reddit pointed out, a Spanish reveal video for the game from March 18 mentions a release window of ‘Invierno 2022’. Invierno, a Spanish word, means Winter. As the fan pointed out, winter in Spain officially starts on December 21 and ends in March.

So, does this mean that Hogwarts Legacy will have a release date beyond December 21? Even though such a situation prevails, fans aren’t going to be happy about it. Such a late release into December sounds like a very bad marketing plan to most fans.

Several others pointed out that Invierno 2022 probably implies the international winter window itself. The mention doesn’t necessarily point at the game’s release during Spanish winter. As of now, people are convinced that Hogwarts Legacy will release during the first week of December. If not, it will surely drop by mid-December.

But, this speculation did trigger a lot of doubts in the fandom. After all, the much-anticipated action-adventure RPG will definitely awestruck a lot of Harry Potter fans. However, the game won’t feature the popular character from the lore.
