Head of GameIndustry.biz. and GamesAid trustee Christopher Dring, revealed this fact along with several others on a Twitter thread today. He often offers several updates on KPIs.

Christopher Dring added in the thread, Some fun stats. Across Europe, more people have bought Farming Simulator 22 than Skywards Sword HD, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, Monster Hunter Rise, Forza Horizon 5, and Guardians of the Galaxy.”

Farming Simulator 22 breaks the series record

The Farming Simulator 22 from Giant Software broke the record of the series. It sold over 1.5 million copies just in the first week. To date, they have sold more than 25 million copies. In addition, the title has also had 90 million mobile downloads.

However, he also claimed, “In terms of games… it was a pretty poor year for ‘new’ game releases across various European territories,” in the same thread.

Moreover, according to Dring, multiple European territories witnessed a Nintendo Switch supremacy in 2021. Conversely, PlayStation 5 is to be the dominator in the UK, along with Denmark, Finland, and Sweden.
