PlayStation VR2 to be mass produced with 2 million units expected by March 2023, along with more PS5s

According to a report by Bloomberg, Sony plans to make nearly two million PSVR2 headsets by March, next year. It was previously rumored that the company would mass produce the device later this year, and it looks like the rumors were true indeed. Bloomberg revealed that the large-scale production began in September itself for the PlayStation VR2.

It also implies that there are no supply chain issues for Sony as the production is going in full flow. In terms of comparison, it took about eight months for the PSVR1 to ship a million units. And it took 14 months to ship two million units, the same figure expected for its successor by March itself. Popular Twitter account Wario64, on Twitter, shared this update on the social media platform.

Well, this news also brings a positive update for those waiting to buy the PS5. Since there’s no problem regarding the supply chain, as it seems from the latest report, the current generation of the console might be available in mass quantity as well. Players will be able to purchase the PS5 in the coming months as Sony starts increasing production.

Coming back to the PSVR2, then it will be interesting to see the actual performance of the device upon its launch. It’s already been revealed that it will offer a better, more immersive experience compared to the first generation.

What are your thoughts about the upcoming virtual reality headset from Sony? Will it end up being more popular than PSVR1? Let us know in the comments down below.
